Encounters pt 3

I like this sequence. There is a lot of dramatic lighting going on. My favorite shot was the keyhole.

Your eye for colour is quite amazing. I wonder if at some point it could be feasible to create a short animation like this.

Thanks Nick, nice to hear from you!
I am toying with an idea of doing animation with pastels, lets see if that gets off the ground!

beautiful color-sketches! a nearly forgotten technique in a cold cg-world. reminds me a lot of mel shaw's beautiful pastel designs.

Thank you for you compliment Hans. Coming form you it is a huge honour! I remember getting a hold of your "Mulan production notes" back when I was at Sheridan. I learned so much from them, and I still have them. Mind you they are in bad shape fromt the years of usage :)

I have never really heard of Mell Shaw, so I just went to look him up on the interent and found his work. Very inspirational. Perhaps in future you could make a blog post about him.

Fantastic!! What a great idea to study beautifully composed old films, and your sketches are really fabulous. Love the way you handle the medium with such economy of stroke!
