Down by the creek
Do you have those days that you feel like you are doing Sisyphus labour? That is how I am feeling now about my recent paintings lol. Instead of getting better it looks like I have taken two steps backwards, sigh. I guess like anything else in life it will all pass and better days will come :)
This was done at High Park down by the creek. It gets quite dark there as it is nestled against a hill and overgrown trees on the other side. It was about 4pm and light trickled down from the hill and hit the water. However as anyone who paints outdoors knows very well that light doesn't wait for you, but I moved at a snail pace, putting down the pigment, erasing it, piling some more and erasing again. There was a moment where I just wanted to pack up and go home, but I pushed one more time and what you see is the final result....
This was a quick sketch in the morning done in my backyard, I wanted to work on in some more but had to rush to get to work, wife mentioned something about making money and brining bacon.
I started to do memory paintings, this was inspired by Quebec trip I took this summer.
This is also memory work. The colour of the sky was so amazing last night. I was coming back home from friend's BBQ fiesta and I absolutely loved what I was seeing.

Camp No. 11
I had an awesome time camping with my wife at Quinte Conservation Area, Ontario. The ride was slow, hot, with no A/C and too much traffic for my taste, but we got there and the sight of nature made it all better. We paddled out in the canoe for about 20 minutes, passing by little islands, open rock cliffs, pine trees and chipmunks. I cooked all weekend long, starting with Chevaps and Balkan style Bean stew with smoked ribs. At night we watched the full moon, which was enormous in size due to low horizon position and stars, countless stars that you normally never see in the city. I managed to paint a bit, and mostly crap might I say. This was the only piece I felt ok with.
